Our Mission
ADU Zoning Hub exists to make ADU zoning information accessible, accurate, and actionable for every homeowner in America. We believe that Accessory Dwelling Units are a critical part of solving the housing crisis, and that the biggest barrier to building more ADUs is the complexity of local regulations.
What We Do
We research, compile and maintain city-by-city ADU zoning guides for cities across the United States. Each guide covers what a homeowner needs to know: maximum sizes, setback requirements, permit processes, fees, construction costs and rental income potential.
Our Commitment to Accuracy
ADU regulations change frequently as cities and states pass new legislation. We check each city page against the city's own municipal code, planning documents and state ADU law, list the sources on the page, and show the date it was last checked. We work from published sources; we don't speak to every planning department, so for a decision about your own lot, confirm with your city before you design or buy.
